Boreal 52 Bravo

Broker’s Comments

The Boréal 52 is a capable, handsome, and very well-built bluewater cruising yacht, equally at home in all oceans and eminently capable of taking her crew far. BRAVO is particularly well specified for long-distance cruising by a couple and is already well proven. She features many subtle and well-considered updates over the standard Boréal design.

Now offered for sale due to her owners’ change of plans, she presents an opportunity to purchase a very well-maintained bluewater cruising yacht of outstanding pedigree.

Owner’s Comments

BRAVO was commissioned for very experienced sailors. Adam Kerner, an architect, had already sailed extensively offshore before ordering BRAVO with his wife, Cindy. A number of his refinements have since been incorporated into the standard specifications of the 52, 55 and now the 56. These include the aluminium galley surface and the installation of electric gearing outside the engine room.

Adam was deeply committed to safety at sea and therefore specified redundancy across almost all systems aboard BRAVO. She is fully equipped for worldwide cruising, including both 220V and 110V electrical systems — an invaluable feature for long-range sailors.

Delivered in early 2020, just before Covid, Cindy and Adam stayed aboard during the lockdowns and soon discovered that BRAVO had become their new home. They sailed across Europe during the summer of 2020, crossing the Atlantic the following winter. From there, they cruised to Labrador, Canada twice and captured some wonderful photographs among the icebergs.

Having sold their house, they lived aboard BRAVO full time, eventually leaving her ashore for the winter of 2022/23 in Maine, where she was fully serviced. In the summer of 2023, they returned to BRAVO, spending the following winter (2023/24) in Annapolis, where they decided to put her up for sale.

I purchased BRAVO in May 2024 and sailed her back to Europe that summer. The plan was for my partner and me to spend our retirement years sailing in Northern Europe and perhaps cruising to the Southern Hemisphere. Life, however, had other ideas: my partner recently became a grandmother, and I do not wish to sail BRAVO alone. We have therefore decided to find BRAVO new owners who can give her the sailing programme for which she was designed.
